Mowing Frequency and Mowing Heights
Frequent mowing helps a lawn resist weeds, insects and disease, infrequent mowing causes too much grass to be removed at one time and produces a lawn that looks thin, spotty or “burned.” As a general rule, we never cut more than one-third of the length of the grass at a time. Most experts recommend cool season grass types such as fescue and bluegrass to be mowed at a height between 2 and 3 inches. We generally mow at 3 inches because a lawn cut at this height will have a deeper root system, and be more resistant to weeds and disease than shorter cut grass. Mowing at this height gives your lawn an over-all attractive appearance.
Premier Lawn offers two residential mowing options.
Our basic mowing service includes mowing, trimming all edges, and blower clean up of all hard surfaces such as driveways, sidewalks and patios.
